Managed 10 coworkers for a department competition to envision and plan for the future of technical communication at Itron. Responsibilities included coordinating meetings, organizing team members, delegating tasks, managing proposals, and presenting results to management.
2014 Designing Interactive Systems Conference Demos
Summer 2014
Managed 13 groups of international academics and artists showing their work at the Demos component of the 2014 Designing Interactive Systems (DIS) Conference. Responsibilities included organizing and transporting equipment, cataloging attendee expectations, assisting with event setup and teardown, troubleshooting, and acting as point of contact for attendees, conference representatives, and venue representatives.
Quantifying Physical Strategies in Tangible Tasks Study

Managed a team of researchers from the School of Interactive Arts + Technology (SIAT) at Simon Fraser University conducting a study of how adults use their hands to help think during spatial problem-solving tasks. Responsibilities included organizing equipment, conducting the study, working with sensitive data, creating schedules, evaluating results, and facilitating the video coding process.
Children’s Collaboration in a Tabletop Game for Change Study

Helped manage a team of researchers from the School of Interactive Arts + Technology (SIAT) at Simon Fraser University conducting a study of how elementary school-aged children work together playing a tabletop game. Responsibilities included organizing and transporting equipment, conducting the study, working with sensitive data, creating schedules, evaluating results, and facilitating the video coding process.
TECI Lab Manager

Acted as lab manager for Dr. Alissa Antle’s Tangibles, Embodied, and Children Interactions (TECI) Lab in the School of Interactive Arts + Technology (SIAT) at Simon Fraser University. Oversaw four spaces, including research laboratories, workspaces, and office spaces. Responsibilities included maintaining and upgrading computers, creating and managing an equipment inventory, cleaning and organizing lab spaces, planning and coordinating events, acting as point of contact for faculty, administration, and students, and supporting my supervisor as needed.
2011 Washington State University Research Showcase

Managed a group of 14 students and faculty from The Creative Media & Digital Culture Program (CMDC) at Washington State University Vancouver traveling to Pullman, WA to display five projects at the annual Washington State University Research Showcase. Responsibilities included organizing meetings, assigning tasks, acting as point of contact with supervisors, planning itineraries, designing the project display, organizing equipment, supervising schedules, assisting with people and gear transportation, securing financial support, and creating promotional materials.
The Creative Media & Digital Culture Program Research Assistant

Employed as The Creative Media & Digital Culture Program‘s (CMDC) Research Assistant to the Program Director at Washington State University Vancouver. Oversaw six spaces on campus, including research laboratories, classrooms, and offices. 2010 International Digital Media Artists Association Conference

Led a group of advanced Washington State University Vancouver undergraduates presenting projects at the 2010 International Digital Media Artists Association (IDMAa) Conference in Vancouver, BC. In addition to displaying two projects at the conference’s student showcase, I was also in charge of the other students in attendance. Responsibilities included distributing event information, securing trip funding, organizing equipment, creating itineraries, and anticipating group needs.
Media Scare
Fall 2010
Led a team of advanced undergraduates working in Dr. Dene Grigar’s Motion-Tracking Virtual Environment (MOVE) Lab at Washington State University Vancouver (WSU Vancouver). Our work culminated in the creation of Media Scare, an all-digital interpretation of the haunted house. In addition to being featured in campus publications and local news articles, Media Scare was one of the five projects that earned WSU Vancouver an Honorable Mention award at the 2010 International Digital Media and Arts Association (IDMAa) Conference’s Student Showcase. Responsibilities included organizing meetings, assigning tasks, acting as point of contact to our supervisor, programming the software, organizing equipment, and creating promotional materials.
Identity Clark County Website Redesign

Led a team of students from The Creative Media & Digital Culture Program (CMDC) at Washington State University Vancouver tasked with redesigning the website of Identity Clark County (ICC), a non-profit organization that makes large-scale policy decisions for Southwest Washington business leaders. Responsibilities included assigning tasks, acting as point of contact for the client, creating promotional materials, and presenting our work to the client.
