Homemade Citrus Sugar Scrub

May 9, 2012

Posting something not necessarily food related has been on my “to-do” list for the past few weeks. While this is not completely out of the food realm—it’s still not meant to be eaten. (If you are in a complete dire state and it’s eat something or die—go ahead, eat it. It’s really only sugar, citrus juice and oil.)

I made the scrub as baby shower game prizes. They are super cost effective and look great with a simple label. The scrub is great on dry hands and feet and leaves a nice citrus smell. Oh, and it’s super easy to make!

Homemade Citrus Sugar Scrub

3 cups natural sugar (Sugar in the Raw works well)

Neutral oil

2 lemons, zested and juiced

2 limes, zested and juiced

Combine the above ingredients. Note: The amount of oil you add is completely up to you. You want to made sure the sugar is moist and there is a little excess hanging out in your container. As the scrub sits, more of the oil will be absorbed—so a little extra oil is encouraged.

There you go! Now go scrub those hands and feet!
